What is your feeling about what the United Nations is calling for on the nanoparticle regulations?

I believe that the emergence of nanoscience necessitates change in current chemical regulations, but I do not think that an entirely new nanopartical regulatory system is needed. There is currently a mystique around nanoscience that labels it as new and distinct science. However, in reality, nanoscience is simply a smaller way of looking at thing and applies to all industries and sciences. There are certain loop holes in current regulations that need to be filled as a result of some of the phenomena found in nanoscience. Ahson Wardak writes an interesting article on the matter http://www.ianano.org/Nanotech-Regulation.pdf
